Faculty & Staff
Mike Smith
President/Faculty
Mike Smith brings 30 years of experience to Legacy’s faculty. From framing to plumbing, drywall to tile, he has been involved in every phase of construction, both residential and commercial. Mike received training from Bob Jones University’s School of Applied Studies in Carpentry and Construction. From there, he went on to frame multi-million dollar custom homes in the Boulder, Colorado area. After running his own deck and remodeling company for a short time, he began using his skills full-time as a missionary, building for pastors, churches, Christian camps, and other missionaries around the United States and the world.
Jon Bixby
Administrator/Faculty
Born to missionary parents and profoundly influenced by a missionary builder in his formative years, Jon’s heart is bent toward the ministry and vision of Legacy Trade College. With 35 years of experience in the construction trades, beyond those experiences as an MK, and more than a dozen years of pastoral ministry, he desires to see a reproduction of warriors prepared for Biblical manhood and womanhood in service for the kingdom. Degrees in Bible, missions, theology, and pastoral theology have nurtured Jon’s classroom familiarity, while ten children have added their influence to his experience and prepared him to assist in the pursuit of God’s plan for this ministry. Twenty-two years of friendship and experiences with Mike, including several mission trips abroad and stateside, have united their hearts in this dream.
